Founded in 1979, Watkins Aircraft Support Products (WASP) began by manufacturing ground support equipment for the aircraft industry. For over 25 years, WASP has grown to a position of market leader through emphasis on engineering and quality manufacturing. Product costs are kept competitive through large quantity production. WASP markets its products worldwide and prides itself on its ability to customize existing designs or develop new ones to meet the customer's needs.

WASP is headquartered in Glenwood, Minnesota, USA,  in an industrial area on Highway 55 East.  Glenwood is located northwest of Minneapolis about two and one-half hours, or approximately 120 miles, from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. WASP has four plant locations in Glenwood and one in Falls City, Nebraska.

WASP currently serves two primary markets. The Ground Support Division has become an industry leader in the design and manufacture of non-powered Ground Support Equipment having produced over 100,000 pieces of equipment since 1979. In 1985, WASP entered the Package Conveyor market as well and this division currently accounts for 50% of WASP's sales.

In December of 1997, WASP became 100% employee owned through an ESOP purchase from company founder Jim Watkins. We're very proud of our fine reputation in the Package Handling and Ground Support Equipment industries. WASP people--all 300 of them--make the difference. We have a low employee turnover rate. We've built an experienced, loyal team of craftsmen who take pride in their work.

The Ground Support and Conveyor Divisions have steadily developed new domestic and international markets, with exports presently accounting for 10-20% of annual sales. WASP has shipped products or done conveyor installations in all 50 states, as well as Canada, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Norway, Iceland, England, Spain, Germany, Russia, Guam, China, Singapore, Micronesia, Africa, Australia, Korea and many Middle East countries, including Israel, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The Parts Division has the parts to keep your equipment working for you. We have an inventory of over 6000 different parts to support your WASP equipment. Our computerized inventory allows us to monitor parts usage, give you a shipping date at the time your order is placed and maintain an ample inventory so you won't have to. We ship 90% of parts orders within 24 hours of receipt.
